National Day for Truth and Reconciliation 2021

September 30th is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Here are some ways you can honour the day.

Wear an orange shirt. In this CTV article survivor Geraldine Shingoose says that the small gesture of displaying an orange shirt can have a powerful impact on survivors.

The Gord Downie and Chanie Wenjack Fund website has a variety of links where you can learn more about the history and legacy of Residential Schools. They will also be hosting a discussion on September 30th to explore the significance of reconciliation in Canada, and how we can  participate meaningfully.  

CBC will have a full day of programming sharing First Nations, Métis and Inuit perspectives and experiences.
